The City of Calgary, known as Canada’s energy capital, is in the southern part of the province of Alberta and has been ranked the seventh most livable city in the world, the second highest ranking of any Canadian city. Recent published reports state that Calgary came in 31st in prosperity because of its high GDP; ranked 23rd globally and “by far the highest in Canada”. Calgary is now welcoming new projects and cultural hubs are flourishing, reinforcing the city’s quality of life and building for its future. Our prayer is that you will be blessed in this City and strengthened by the power of Jesus and that you will live a life of abundance in fellowship, joy and liberty.
New Covenant Pentecostal Church, Calgary (NCPC Calgary), planted by some of the dedicated believers in the City of Calgary, then being watered and disciplined by anointed ministers of God with the rich manure of the Word of God, has progressively grown in quality and in quantity by the power of Jesus Christ, who is the only source of power to enable the church grow. NCPC Calgary is rooted in the Biblical and Trinitarian doctrinal teachings, which was prayerfully started under the guidance of our Lord Jesus Christ, is moving forward on the path of growth by the grace of God. Our humble beginnings of spiritual journey began in Jan 2015 by divine commission as a house church in a basement and gathering together at believers’ residences. Pastor Joshua Joseph was appointed as the first pastor of the Church. While worshiping God in the traditional Pentecostal form of worship in Malayalam, the ability to adapt various forms of worship with an emphasis on Hindi and English is a vivid reflection of the broader vision that God has conveyed to NCPC Calgary on a spiritual level. NCPC Calgary currently conducts one Multilingual (Hindi/English) service on Saturday evenings and two worship services on Sunday mornings – Multilingual (Hindi) service and Malayalam service with English translation.
At present, NCPC Calgary is led by anointed minister Pastor K P Samuel. Our Sunday service is on Sunday mornings at Cambrian Heights Community Association Hall from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, which includes Sunday school for our kids where they learn the Word of God in a very systematic curriculum, Spirit-filled worship led by Church choir, Psalms exhortation, sermon along with prayer and testimony. In addition to Sunday worship service, we are blessed to have cottage meetings on Wednesdays, tarry meetings, fasting prayer meetings, and Bible studies on Fridays and Saturdays to carry out studies and proclamations of the Word of God rooted in the Bible. Sisters’ spiritual fellowship named Ladies for Christ (LFC) is vibrantly engaged in the spiritual enrichment of the souls and for interceding various prayer matters.
Youths are so blessed in NCPC Calgary as they are given importance in our Church, and we try our level best to include them in all the aspects of our activities. Every alternate month, we host a dedicated Youth Church service for all youths under the leadership of adults and Youth meeting adequate for cultivating the spiritual taste in God among youths. In addition, a Live English translation is provided for our younger generation to understand the Word of God in its true Spirit and form.
NCPC Calgary understands God’s call to the spiritual ministry of the Church members and encourages them to study the Word of God, equip them to exhort and preach the Word of God in the Church. Our members are encouraged and equipped to volunteer in their interested areas to exalt our God’s name. Jeevamozhi and Jeevith Vachan, a digitalized version of spreading gospel, is broadcasted in the form of Bible quiz and daily Bible devotions in multiple languages Malayalam, English and Hindi, through WhatsApp for people from all over the world. Our Mission wing is eagerly engaged in spreading gospel among the unreached souls and their activities including outreach ministry regardless of adverse weather conditions.
NCPC Calgary family is certain that the Lord alone who guided us this far will continue to use us to exalt His name, edify one another and will continue to equip us to save the lost ones.
NCPC Calgary is an assembly of believers in Jesus Christ, whose vision is to remain as a Pentecostal church in Biblical doctrine, principle, practice and proclaim the gospel in the communities around us and beyond. We are expecting more souls to be birthed for God’s Kingdom. The Bible states “for mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all people” (Isaiah 56:7) and this leads us to reach into nations and cultures whom we have reached and have never reached before with the gospel. We are intending for people to come to Jesus and to have a relationship with Him as their personal Savior. We want them to experience the peace, healing and love of God in their hearts.
NCPC Calgary believe most assuredly that the Holy Scriptures are God’s final revelation and constitute our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. The purpose of this Statement of Faith is to make known the biblical doctrines we believe and teach.

The Bible is the complete Word of God, revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct. We believe that the Bible consisting of sixty-six (66) books including the Old and New Testament, as originally written, is the inerrant, infallible, plenary and inspired Word of God useful for teaching, rectifying and training in righteousness. Therefore, we believe the Word of God to be the tool used to thoroughly equip us for every good work. (Psalms 119:160; Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
Christian believers today receive spiritual insight to enable them to understand the Bible, but God does not grant new revelations that are contrary or additional to inspired biblical truth. (1 Corinthians 2:12-14; Proverbs 30:5-6)
We believe that there is one living and true God, an infinite, intelligent spirit, the triune God of the Bible. He created all things, including the heavens and the earth, things seen and unseen. He upholds all things by the power of His word. It is in Him that we live and move and have our being. He is a personal God, in that He cares about our daily lives, and is actively at work in the world and in the lives of men, women and children today. God is a God of truth, who is without sin, and He is just and right and will judge the world. (Genesis 1; Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalms 9:8; Isaiah 44:6 & 24; Jeremiah 10:10a; John 17:3; Acts 17:28; Colossians 1:15-17; Hebrews 1:3; Revelation 4:11)
We believe in one God, who infinitely and eternally exists in the unity of the Godhead as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe that all three persons of the Trinity, having the same attributes, are identical in nature and equal in power and glory, yet with distinct roles. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29; John 10:30; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
We believe that God the Father, the first person of the Trinity, is the Father over all creation, the Father to the Son, Jesus Christ, and the Father to all believers. (1 Corinthians 8:6a; Galatians 3:26; Galatians 4:4; Ephesians 1:3)
We believe that Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity and the Son of God, became man, being born of the Virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14). Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh; we affirm His virgin birth, sinless humanity and divine miracles. He died on the cross for all humanity as a substitutionary sacrifice, rose bodily and ascended to heaven in His glorified body, where he is now at the right hand of the Father. We believe that His death is sufficient to provide salvation for all who receive Him as personal Savior. In fulfillment of prophecy, He came first to Israel as her Messiah-King, and that, being rejected of that nation, He, according to the eternal counsels of God, gave His life as a ransom for all. He will come again to establish His kingdom in righteousness and peace. We also believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, immediately indwells in the believer at the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit convict, guides, instructs, fills, comforts and empowers the believer to live a Christ-centered life. The Holy Spirit makes the Word of Christ effective to sinners, giving spiritual life and placing them into the Church. He dwells in all believers, empowering them to love, serve, witness and obey God, equipping them with gifts, and transforming them to be increasingly like Christ. The Holy Spirit is ultimately sovereign in the distribution of spiritual gifts. (John 14:26; Acts 5:3-4; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:11; Ephesians 1:13-14; Titus 3:5)
We believe that certain well-defined ministries are committed to the Holy Spirit, and that it is the duty of every Christian to discern, understand them and to adapt to them in their own life and experience. These ministries are the restraining of evil in the world to the measure of the divine will; the convicting of the world concerning sin, righteousness and judgment; the regenerating of all believers; the indwelling and anointing of all who are saved, thereby sealing them unto the day of redemption; the baptizing into the one body of Christ of all who are saved; and the continued filling for power, teaching, and service of those among the saved who are yielded to Him and who are subject to His will (John 3:6, 16:7–11; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18; 2 Thessalonians 2:7; 1 John 2:20–27).
We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and angels. We believe that God created the angels to be His servants and messengers. We believe that Satan is the originator of sin, and is presently in the world as the deceiver, blinding the eyes of the unbelievers, and opposing the work of God. He was judged at the cross, and although at present is the “god of this age” will, at the second coming of Christ, be bound in the abyss for one thousand years. Then he will be loosed for a time, but finally will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where he shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
We believe that God created an innumerable company of sinless, spiritual beings, known as angels; that one, “Lucifer, son of the morning”, the highest in rank, fell through pride of his desire to be greater than God, thereby becoming Satan. A great company of the angels followed him in his moral fall, some of whom became demons and are active as his agents and associates in the prosecution of his unholy purposes, while others who fell are “reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day”. We believe Satan is the great enemy of God and man, and the demons are his servants in evil. We believe that a great company of angels did not fall with Satan, and are before the throne of God. From the throne they are sent back and forth as ministering spirits, to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation. (Ephesians 1:21, 6:11-12; Hebrews 1:14; Revelation 16:13-14)
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but sin entered the world through temptation by Satan, a fallen angel, which resulted in the fall of Adam and Eve. Since that time, the penalty of sin is a physical and spiritual separation from God. Because man has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, man needs to be redeemed. There is nothing man can do to redeem himself from this lost condition. We believe that Satan and his demons are real. They are always at work trying to deceive and destroy and are in every way opposed to God. However, the believer cannot be possessed by them because the believer’s body is the temple of the Holy Spirit in which Christ dwells as Lord. Salvation is a gift of God’s grace and has been provided for all people through the sacrifice of Christ upon the cross. We believe that the shed blood of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection three days later provide the only way to salvation. Therefore, salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone and cannot be earned by any acts such as repentance, confession, baptism, prayer or good works. Good works and changed lives are the inevitable evidence of Salvation. By receiving the gift of salvation, our identity in Christ gives us the significant position as children of God. We have been set free from sin, being born again, and are new creations. We are God’s cherished possessions and treasures, and therefore, we have an eternal home in heaven. Those who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior become eternally secure as children of God. (Isaiah 53:3-6; John 12:32-33; Acts 2:36; Romans 4:25; 8:16; 10:9; Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12; James 2; 1 Peter 2:24)
The inward evidence of salvation, new birth and justification to the believer is the direct witness of the Spirit, and the outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and holiness. (Romans 8:16; 12:1-2)
A person can be born again only through faith in Christ. Those who repent and believe in Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and receive eternal life. Repentance is a complete change of mind designed by the Holy Spirit, turning a person to God from Sin. (Isaiah 55:7; Acts 17:30; 20:21; Galatians 3:22, 26; Ephesians 2:8; 1 Peter 1:23, 25; 1 John 5:10-13)
We believe that God uses the church as His primary way of accomplishing His purposes on earth. The universal church is made up of all who have been born of the Spirit, which are the Body and Bride of Christ. The church is made up of the body of believers, called by God to worship, fellowship, observe the ordinances of the church, proclaim the Gospel, and make disciples among all people, reflecting God’s character, engaging in works of compassion, contending for truth and justice. (John 4:23; Acts 1:8; 11:19-24; 14:23; 20:7; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; 16:19; Ephesians 3:10-11; 4:15-16; 5:25b; Colossians 1:18; 1 Timothy 3:15; 2 Timothy 2:2; 1 Peter 5:2)
We believe that there are two ordinances established in the Bible: baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Scripture shows that people were baptized immediately after personally receiving forgiveness of sin through accepting Jesus Christ. Believer’s baptism shall serve as an act of obedience to the command of Jesus, as well as a public statement of faith. The Lord’s Supper is observed as a reminder and a symbol of His broken body and shed blood on the cross. These ordinances are in no way to be regarded as a means of salvation. A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a twofold purpose: (a) the evangelization of the world and (b) the edifying of the body of Christ (Acts 6:2b-4c; 13:2-4a; 14:23, Ephesians 4:8; 11-13)
Sanctification is dedication to God and separation from evil. We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon our Savior and Lord and, that separation from sinful practices and associations is commanded by God. The Bible teaches a life of holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. Entire sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s word. The Holy Spirit draws the believer’s attention to Christ, teaches them through God and produces the character of Christ in them. (Romans 8:3-4; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; 1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 John 2:6)
At death, the souls of believers pass immediately to the presence of Christ, and these remain in constant ecstasy until the resurrection of the glorified body. The souls of unbelievers remain after death of condemnation until the final bodily resurrection and judgment of the unjust. (Daniel 12:2; Luke 16:22-31; John 3:36; 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:42-44; 2 Corinthians 5:1, 4b, 8; Romans 8:22-23; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Titus 2:13; Philippians 1:21, 23-24; Revelation 20:10-15)
The rapture is the blessed hope of the church. It is the imminent coming of the Lord in the air to receive His people, both the living shall be transformed, and the dead in Christ shall be resurrected and we will be forever with the Lord. This event takes place before the wrath of God is poured out during the tribulation. Believers then will appear before the judgment seat of Christ to be judged according to their faithfulness in Christian service. (1 Corinthians 3:11-15; 15:51-57; 2 Corinthians 5:9-10; Romans 14:10-12; Philippians 3:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13)
The tribulation will be a time of judgment on the whole earth. During this period Antichrist will emerge to offer false hope to the nations. (Matthew 24:15, 21-22; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12; Revelation 13:11-18)
The return of Christ to earth in power and great glory will conclude the great tribulation with the victory at Armageddon, the defeat of Antichrist and the binding of Satan. Christ will introduce the millennial age, restore Israel to her own land, lift the curse which now rests upon the whole creation, and bring the whole world to the knowledge of God. (Psalms 2:6-12; Isaiah 1:24-27; 2:1-4; Daniel 2:44-45; Zechariah 14:3, 4, 9; Matthew 24:27, 30; Luke 17:24; 26-30; 22:29-30; Romans 8:19-23; Revelation 3:21; 16:12-16, 17:8; 12-14; 19: 11-20; 20:6; 22:3)
There will be a final judgment in which the unbelieving dead will be raised and judged at the great white throne, according to their works. The beast and false prophet, the devils and his angels, and whoever is not found in the Book of Life, shall be cast into the lake of fire, not to annihilation but to everlasting punishment, which is the second death. (Matthew 25:41b; Jude 6; Rev 20:10; 15; 21:8)
The righteous will share the glory of God in the new heaven and the new earth for eternity. (Matthew 13:43; John 17:24; Hebrews 11:10; 2 Peter 3:13; Rev 21:1-2, 10, 22-23)
